Snowsled

This simple Komatik sled, here shown with a 12 ft X 4 ft bed, can be used for managing logistics around base or for taking field party equipment far away from base. The length, width and height can be made to suit customer requirements. As shown, a maximum payload of around 1600 lbs (730 Kgs) can be towed.

Construction: the sides and runners are glued and screwed together, with the lateral slats lashed with flax cord. The sides are therefore very stiff and strong but flex relative to each other.

The A-frame is detachable and stores up when the sled is parked.

• 2” wide ply box section sides on 4”wide UHMW PE soled runners.
• Slats are solid ash and of length (ie, sled width) to suit customer requirements.
• All wood parts are liberally treated with linseed oil.
