High loft clothing

Down and synthetic fill clothing garments can be classed as both ‘thermal’ and 'outer' clothing, but are usually too warm to use other than in low activity situations. Down is useless if it gets wet, although some garments are available with fully waterproof outer layers (see above for wet cold)
