Snowsled Rescue Ltd launched at the Emergency Services Show 2007 in Coventry. Snowsled vacuum mattresses have been a standard item of equipment for all the mountain rescue teams in the UK for 14 years. Following the development of both the Secure Casualty System bag and the Katie rescue stretcher in Scotland, Snowsled Rescue Ltd has been established to manufacture and market this larger range of items.
Vacuum MattressThe standard pattern in use by all mountain rescue teams in England and Wales and most in Scotland and Ireland.
Katie StretcherThe Katie stretcher has been developed under the auspices of the Mountain Rescue Committee of Scotland from a donation in memory of Catherine Smith, who died in the Himalayas from altitude sickness whilst on honeymoon in 1992. Snowsled Rescue has completed the project at the production stage, following testing and evaluation of prototypes by Scottish rescue teams over several years, led by James Kean of the Kintail Mountain Rescue Team
The SCS is an all season casualty care system, developed over several years by Paul Rosher (Rocais-Dubh Designs) from the Skye Mountain Rescue Team. It is the result of hundreds of hours of trials and training, using several prototypes, with Scottish mountain rescue teams and also during his winter membership of the Yosemite Search and Rescue Team during 2002 – 2003.
Animal Rescue SacThe Snowsled animal rescue sac is used by RSPCA and others teams around the country, and allows animals to be safely enclosed for themselves and rescuers and rescued in a manageable way from their predicament. It is particularly suitable for cliff rescues.
