Ice Blue® pulk changes ready now!
We are pleased to announce the following additions and changes made to the Ice blue® pulk system components over the last few months. All the changes will work with previous designs, except for that relating to bags below.
*NEW Ice Blue® Expedition shell*

This came in right at the end of last season, but we have already been selling them and several have already made good journeys to the North Pole. Please click here for full specification.
It will take a load of 100 Kgs and can be used with all other components of Ice Blue® equipment developed for this shell.
Harnesses
There are small design changes to make it easier to attach the hauling shaft, and to tidy up
the R-clip cord. All shaft harnesses now have a stainless steel ring for rope attachment. They can therefore be used for training with ropes, before using a hauling shaft for an expedition.
Ropes
Hauling ropes, whether or not with karabiners, are now supplied in a small Nylon stuff-bag.
Hauling shaft There are two changes to the shaft –

Now that we have two different sizes of plastic shell, we need two widths of both cross-bar and webbing. Cross-bars and shaft bags are now colour coded, black for the Expedition shell and red for the Trail shell. Click Here for an updated set of fitting instructions (pdf)
And the harness fitting on the shaft is re-designed so that it is easier to use – they can now be used on the left- or right-hand side of the harness.
Full length bags. (this is the only change where the old and new systems may not match)
Strap holes on the Trail and Expedition shell are now in the same relative position to the Snowsled logo on the shells, and have identical separation. The straps are now better placed over the Trail bag, 5 cms forwards of the previous position.
Straps and handles for the new Expedition shell are bolted to the shell, not sewn onto the bag.
Freight bags.
These have been a great success for the Trail shell, and, with requests for the Expedition size as well, we can now offer this as standard – same design but to fit the Expedition shell, and with the addition of a handle at each end.
