Introduction to the Ice Blue system
Snowsled has been designing and manufacturing sleds and pulks since 1988 – 23 years of sled and pulk designing and manufacturing experience. We are probably the only manufacturer worldwide with this breadth of small sled making experience. Our standard range of sled products also includes Nansen and komatik sleds, fibreglass and Kevlar pulks. Our background is polar living and travel – five seasons including two winters in Antarctica, and several expeditions in the high arctic. Our designs are constantly being kept up to date with feedback from numerous expeditions each year.
Snowsled developed the Ice Blue plastic pulk system because it was impossible to find a simple pulk that was,
- well designed,
- realistically priced, and
- that gave users a choice of essential related equipment and ways to use them.
The Ice Blue pulk system is the only one available world-wide that satisfies these requirements.
The system allows you to choose from a range of accessories in order to make up your own equipment package. You can buy just the shell, add to it and also make your own modifications. You ca
n also choose other accessories and be ready to use the system straight away.
The major advantages are,
- Good design – a kit system that is light-weight, durable, of innovative design and high quality. All Snowsled products are designed in-house and, apart from the shell, also manufactured in-house.
- Realistically priced – the combination of chosen materials and design provides an extremely price-competitive product. Compared to all fibreglass pulks of an equivalent size and capability, the Ice Blue system costs significantly less and is more flexible in use.
- Complete system availability – customers choose which components they need for their own particular use. And if a part of the system becomes damaged, the customer needs only to replace that part.

Within their design specification, Ice Blue pulks are of significantly lower price than all equivalent laminated fibreglass products, and provide a user flexibility that other higher priced products do not have. The separate bags, harnesses and shafts are also very competitively priced when compared to other manufacturer’s designs, and over which they have design advantages.
